How to setup a wireless connection
I take it you would want to play online on GTA IV or
even download Playstation Store content! Well
then listen up as you won't be
going anywhere until a Internet Connection is set up. It's really easy
and
most of the hard work is done by the PS3 so you don't need to
worry.
What you will need
All you need is a wireless router that's
already connected (Probably connected already to your PC)
The one i have is
'Netgear' and works a treat.
1. Firstly make sure that your wireless
router is already set up.
2. On your PS3, go to settings, then network
settings and then go to 'Internet Connection Settings'
3. You have now
got to select a setting method. Press 'Easy' to quickly set up the
connection.
4. Now press 'Wireless' on the select configuration
method screen. After this press 'Scan' to find
your wireless
router.
5. You may have more than one router appearing, this is because
your next door neighbour may
have a router as well. I know exactly what your
thinking now! Are you going to steal their connection!
haha. Right back to
it. Select your wireless router and then confirm it in the next
screen.
6. Now in the next screen you may have WLAN security. You may
have or may not have security.
I did have security so basically all you have
to do is enter your wep or wpa key in this screen. If you
haven't got
security don't worry but anyway I do recommend setting up your security with
that router
just in case you have someone parked outside your house stealing
your bandwidth, haha.
7. Now you have done that confirm the next screen
and make sure everything is correct. After you
have done this 'You will see
the option 'Test Connection'. Select this and the PS3 will check
if
everything is working OK. The first three should 'pass'. if not go back
and check your settings.
8. Guess what you have successfully set up a
wireless connection. Enjoy
9. Have a ponder on the Playstation Store to
see the available downloads there are. You can also
access the actual
internet as well, such as Yahoo, YouTube, Google and the works. If you would
